Safeguarding the home requires praying without ceasing
with the help of the Holy Spirit. It can’t be done with mere human
strength. It is the power of God that makes it possible to stay sober,
vigilant, and prayerful in order to guard against any attacks or imminent
dangers. The enemy is always running around seeking where he can
gain access. And that is why it is crucial for a home to come under the
covering and protection of God and for both husband and wife to live a
holy life, not engaging in ungodly lifestyles that will give satan a foothold
into the home/marriage. The praying wife and mother consistently
intercede for her husband and children regardless of whether she feels
like it or not because she knows the importance of prayer
The wife that prays is an excellent instrument in the hands of the Lord. She is used to safeguard her marriage against the devices of satan (the enemy of our soul). The praying wife is a woman of faith, guided by the Holy Spirit and is willing to do whatever is necessary to protect her home.
Additional Scripture References to Meditate Upon
❖ Put aside all sinful behaviors and attitudes. “Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. “Hebrews 12:1 NIV.
❖ Instead of complaining all the time, pray regularly about everything. “Don’t worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need
❖ Put on the right mindset (godly mindset). “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 NIV.
❖ Apply godly wisdom and put your whole trust in Him. “Surely God is my salvation ’I will trust and not be afraid. The Lord, the Lord himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation’ Isaiah 12:2 NIV.
❖ Always seek peace. Learn to dwell in peace with your spouse and children. Strive to be a peacemaker. “If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men.” Romans 12:18, “So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.” Proverbs 14:19 NASB.
